ATHENS, Ga. --The Georgia State Panthers were not able to score a run against Georgia pitcher senior Rachel Gibson on Wednesday and were shut out 8-0 by the No. 13 Bulldogs.
Senior Emily Hodnett (2-6) started and took the loss in the circle for Georgia State (8-22).
HOW IT HAPPENED
Georgia State managed zero chances with runners on third in the shutout, going a total of 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position. The Panthers last got a runner on third in the second, when freshman Morgan Willingham made it 60 feet away from scoring with one out.
GAME NOTES
» Georgia State pitchers faced 27 Georgia hitters in the game, allowing three ground balls and eight fly balls while striking out one.
» Junior Maia Mumpfield led the Panthers at the plate, going 1-for-2.
