All Georgia State Starters Reach Base in 13-6 Loss to Troy

ATLANTA --Georgia State received contributions from every part of their lineup, as all nine starters reached base safely, but the Panthers fell to the Troy Trojans 13-6 Friday.

Senior Sydney Boulware (3-13) got the ball to start for Georgia State (11-37, ) and took the loss.

At the plate, the Panthers were paced by freshman Ryleigh Garrett, who went 2-for-3 on the day with three RBI. Sophomore Bella Morton put together a standout day at the dish as well, going 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI. Senior Chloe Middlebrooks also chipped in for Georgia State, putting together one hit in four trips to the plate while adding an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Panthers got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Garrett drove in two runs for Georgia State with a single, that scored senior Alice Thomas and senior McKenzie Walker.

The Trojans then rallied to score five runs and take a 5-2 lead before the Panthers got back on the board in the fourth. Morton's run-scoring single highlighted an inning where Georgia State scored twice, which tightened the Trojans lead to 5-4.

Troy built their lead to 13-4 before the Georgia State offense got back to work, reducing that lead to 13-6 in the seventh. The Panthers were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.
