ATLANTA-- Georgia State women's track and field team impressed this weekend with nine top five finishes, and a win from
Marissa Palmer at the Don McGarey Invitational in Kennesaw on Saturday afternoon.

Marissa Palmer claimed the top spot at the podium in the 100-meter with a time of 11.59. She also participated on the 4x100 relay team that finished second with a 45.30 time;Â
Justein Whyte,
Laila Eiland and
Lailah Palmer were also on the relay team that claimed the second place finish.Â
Jessica James jumped her way to a second-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 12.10 meters.
Lailah Palmer also boasted an impressive time of 12.00 earning herself fourth place in the event.Â

Junior
Shadae Worrell accounted for another top five finish for the Panthers, coming in fifth in the 400-meter final with a time of 57.40.Â

The Panthers received three top six finishes in the 800-meter, with
Kennedy Morris leading the way in fourth place (2:15.78). Right behind her was
Laure Kidukula in fifth (2:16.08), followed by Mencia Maruri who placed sixth (2:22.20).Â

Freshman Yolanda Brooks came away with a fifth-place finish in the 1500-meter running it in 4:55.99.

Zyra Shivers also earned herself a fifth-place finish by running the 100 hurdles in a time of 14.05.

Laure Kidukula also earned second place in the 4 x 400 relay.
