Sanpanawat Ties for First at Bama Beach Bash

GULF SHORES, Ala.-- Sophomore Pariya Sanpanawat ties for first place to lead the Panthers to a third place finish at the Bama Beach Bash on Tuesday evening.

"I am very happy with how the team performed today and throughout the tournament," Women's Golf Head Coach Ket Vanderpool said. "Despite the strong wind on the first round, we held our heads high and stayed with the moment. It was difficult for everyone. We knew about the condition, and we adapted our game for each day."

Sanpanawat shot 72-71-71 (-2) to secure her second win of the season. She led the course in Par 4s with 3.92 (-2).

"Pariya (Keera) played steady throughout the tournament," Vanderpool said. "I am very happy for her securing her second individual win of the season."

Senior Thin Wai Khaing also scored top ten at the tournament after shooting +9 (76-73-76) through the three rounds, to mark her first top 10 win of her career.

"Our senior, Thin Wai Khaing, performed well throughout the tournament as well," Vanderpool said. "This is her first top ten finish. It's good to see her playing on the course with confidence and comfort. I think these are the important keys to both Keera's and Thin's performance. We are very excited to keep our momentum going and competing in our Georgia State Invitational next week."
