Georgia State Opens Conference Play on the Road to ULM

MONROE, LA.-- Georgia State hits the road for the first conference series of the season, and head coach Becca Owens' first Sun Belt matchup, at ULM on March 14-16. 

The Panthers are 8-18 on the season heading into conference play. 


Georgia State ranks fourth in the Sun Belt for triples with six total. The Panthers' 0.24 triples per-game ranks sixth in the conference. 


Sydney Boulware leads the Panthers in the circle, recording a 2-7 record with a 4.06 ERA. In 12 appearances so far this season, Boulware has notched 58 strikeouts. 

Offensively, Chloe Middlebrooks and Maia Mumpfield have led Georgia State at the Plate. Middlebrooks leads the team in home runs, (3), runs scored (14) and walks (12). She has the second-most RBIs on the team with nine.

Mumpfield leads the team in batting average (40.8), slugging percentage (57.9), hits (31) and RBIs (11). She ranks second in the conference for doubles (8). She ranks fifth in the conference for total hits with 30. 

 

SERIES VS. LOUISIANA MONROE: Georgia State and Louisiana Monroe are meeting for the 35th time in program history. The Panthers and Warhawks are tied in the series. 

> The Panthers are 7-7 on the road against ULM. 


After opening conference play at ULM, the Panthers head to Georgia on March 19 before hosting South Alabama March 212-23.
