ATLANTA— The Georgia State beach volleyball schedule is set, head coach
Beth Van Fleet announced on Tuesday.
The Panthers open the season at the University of Tampa on Friday, Feb. 21-22, where they will compete and a four-game series against Florida International, Tampa, Washington and FAU.
Following the series at Tampa, The Sandy Panthers will head back to Florida to compete in the Seminole Beach Bash at Florida State University on Feb. 29-March 1. Georgia State is slated to compete against Florida State and Houston Christian. Day two competitions will be determined by the outcome of Friday's matches.
To kick off March, the Panthers will return home to host the Day of Duals on Mach 5, where they will host Southern Miss, Charleston and Tennessee Tech.
After hosting the one-day event, the Panthers will enjoy a bye-weekend before heading back to Florida for the Florida Atlantic Invitational for a three-day event on March 14-16. The Sandy Panthers start the weekend with matches against The UAB and Stetson, before facing Florida gulf Coast and Florida Atlantic on Saturday. Georgia State finishes off the weekend facing Texas Christian and USC on Sunday.
Following the trip to Florida, GSU heads to Texas for the annual East-Meets-West competition on March 21-22. Georgia State will face Loyola Marymount and Arizona State on Friday before going head-to-head against Grand Canyon and Cal on Saturday.
After two months of competition, the Panthers will head to the the Sun Belt Mid-Season tournament on Mach 28-29, where they will face ULM, Southern Miss, Coastal Carolina, Charleston, Mercer, Stephen F. Austin and UNC-Wilmington during a two-day event.
The Sandy Panthers will enjoy its second bye-weekend in the beginning of April before hosting its second home event.
Georgia State hosts the GSU Diggin' Duals tournament on April 11-12, starting with North Alabama and Stetson on Friday. On Saturday, the Panthers will face ULM, Eastern Kentucky and north Alabama for senior day.
Following a fun-filled weekend at home, the Sandy Panthers hit the road for the Palmetto Invitational on April 18-19, hosted by South Carolina. While the schedule is to be determined, Georgia State are set to compete against South Carolina, Jacksonville, Florida Gulf Coast, and Coastal Carolina.
To finish off the season, Georgia State will compete in the Sun Belt Championship Tournament on April 24-26 to fight for its third-consecutive Sun Belt Championship title.
