Faddoul’s First-Minute Goal Secures Panthers First Win

ATLANTA, -- Georgia State earned a 2-0 shutout victory over Kennesaw State on Thursday (Sept. 5) at home at the GSU Soccer Complex. Aaliyah Faddoul scored in the first minute, and Taylor Vance sealed the win with her first career goal in the 86th minute.

How it Happened

Georgia State broke the 0-0 tie quickly when Aaliyah Faddoul scored her first goal of the season in the first minute, assisted by Emily Glenn.

The Panthers doubled their lead in the 86th minute when Taylor Vance scored her first goal. Abby Kilman found Payton Conti, who raced down the side and delivered a cross to the far post, where Vance was waiting to finish.

Game Notes

  • Georgia State received two yellow cards.
  • Jaddah Foos collected four saves for the Panthers from 10 total Owls shots, earning her 19th career shutout—just three away from the Georgia State record.
  • Georgia State collected ten shots on goal.

Georgia State improved to 1-3-1 overall after the victory.

The Panthers return to action this Sunday, Sept.8, at 7:00 p.m., when they travel to Clinton, S.C. to take on Presbyterian.
