Panthers Draw 1-1 with Marshall in Conference Opener, Glenn Scores First of Season

ATLANTA, -- Georgia State opened conference play with a 1-1 draw against Marshall on Sunday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. at the GSU Soccer Complex. Emily Glenn put the Panthers ahead early, scoring her first goal of the season in the 12th minute off a well-placed assist from Aaliyah Faddoul. Marshall equalized in the 64th minute to secure the draw.

The tie moved Georgia State's record to 1-5-3 overall and 0-0-1 in Sun Belt action.

How it Happened

Georgia State opened the scoring when Emily Glenn recorded her first goal of the season in the 12th minute, assisted by Aaliyah Faddoul.

The Thundering Herd leveled the match on a goal from Bailey Fisher in the 64th minute, assisted by Katie Porter. The 1-1 score held to the end of the game.

  • Jaddah Foos piled up five saves for the Panthers out of 10 total Thundering Herd shots.
