Panthers Suffer 1-3 Loss at Mercer

MACON, GA -- Georgia State fell 1-3 on the road against Mercer Thursday (Sept. 12) at Betts Stadium. Sophomore Aaliyah Faddoul scored a goal in her third consecutive game. 

How it Happened

Mercer broke the 0-0 tie when Jada Moorman scored in the 20th minute, assisted by Kendall Cook.

The Bears tacked on another score on a goal from Sara Engels in the 28th minute.

Mercer went up 3-0 on Larkin Thomason's 63rd-minute goal, assisted by Anna Bachman and Keelin Pray.

The Panthers got on the board with a 67th-minute goal from Aaliyah Faddoul, her third goal of the season. The score capped the 3-1 game.

Game Notes

  • Jaddah Foos recorded six saves for the Panthers out of 11 total Bears shots.
  • Georgia State put four shots on goal. Three came from Faddoul, while Elena Diaz added the last one. 

Georgia State fell to 1-4-2 on the season following the loss.

The Panthers return to the pitch on Sunday, Sept. 15, at 6:00 p.m. as they host SEC opponent South Carolina at the GSU Soccer Complex.
