HUNTSVILLE, Ala.— The top-seeded Georgia State beach volleyball team notched a 3-1 victory over Coastal Carolina to claim the 2024 Sun Belt Conference Championship Title. With the conference championship victory at the John Hunt Park Sand Volleyball Complex, GSU will receive the league's automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship being contested in Gulf Shores, Ala. from May 3-5.
Savannah Ebarb and
Destiny White secured match point for the Sandy Panthers in Saturday's SBC title match, as the duo secured a 25-23, 21-18 victory at the third flight.
Elise Saga and
Aliisa Vuorinen earned the team its first point for the dual with a 21-18, 21-19 win at the fourth flight, while
Lila Bordis and
Aree Keller downed opponents at the second flight to earn the second point.

Aliisa Vuorinen received the Sun Belt's Pair of the Tournament Award to go with All-Tournament Team honors for 2024 after posting four victories in the fourth flight for the Sandy Panthers.
Lila Bordis and
Aree Keller were also named to the All-Tournament Team for the 2024 championship in Huntsville, as the pair recorded four wins over the weekend.
The back-to-back Sun Belt Coach of the Year, Van Fleet has now guided the No. 15 Sandy Panthers to 26 wins on the season having faced a total of 18 nationally ranked opponents this spring. This also marks the second most wins in program history for GSU. Van Fleet has led the Sandy Panthers to three consecutive conference titles. In 2022 the team earned the C-USA title before winning the inaugural Sun Belt Championship in 2023.
No. 15 GSU enters the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship in Gulf Shores for a third consecutive season having advanced to the round of six in 2022 and falling to eventual champion, USC, in opening round action in 2023. Overall, this marks the fifth NCAA appearance in program history.
