ATLANTA - Georgia State (5-12) fell to Troy (10-6) 5-2 on Saturday morning. Sophomore
Maria Paredes went undefeated as she defeated her opponents at doubles line two and singles line one.
Paredes partnered with freshman
Francesca Miglio at doubles line two posting a 6-2 victory. The duo now holds a three game win streak at doubles line two. Despite the victory, the Panthers dropped matches on doubles lines one and three, falling behind 1-0.
Paredes came out strong in singles, quickly tying the match with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at the top singles court. The sophomore now holds a 4-2 record at singles line No. 1 in conference.
The Panthers then dropped matches on courts No. 5, 3, 2, and 6. On court No. 4,
Luciana Galvez was up 6-4, 2-6, 2-0 when her opponent retired with an injury, making the overall score 5-2 in favor of the Trojans.
Georgia State plays Louisiana next on Saturday April 6 at 11:00 a.m.
