TAMPA – No. 12 Georgia State (2-2) split action over opening weekend at the Tampa Invitational, which included victories over host Tampa and No. 17 South Carolina. Over the two-day tournament,
Destiny White and
Savannah Ebarb saw three wins at the fourth flight while Angel and
Bella Ferary compiled three victories at court one.
Tournament Notes:
- The Sandy Panthers fell to two top-20 opponents in Opening Day action (No. 11 FAU and No. 18 Arizona State)
- Ebarb and White earned the Georgia State point against FAU, marking Ebarb's first victory in blue and white
- The team earned their first win of the 2024 campaign Saturday morning with a win over Tampa.
- Playing in the second flight, Lila Bordis and Aree Keller saw their victory as a duo in the 3-2 win over Tampa
- The victory over No. 17 South Carolina marks the first-ranked win of the season. The Panthers are now 12-7 in all-time meetings against the Gamecocks
- Bordis and Keller earned the clinching point in both the Tampa and South Carolina duals
- Overall, three newcomers took to the sand for Georgia State over the weekend (Aree Keller, Ellie Neville, and Ebarb).

Up Next:
- Beth Van Fleet's squad will travel to Tallahassee, Fla., next weekend. The Sandy Panthers will face Sun Belt foe ULM along with Stetson, Florida State, and Tampa.
