ATLANTA— Georgia State softball is excited to announce the 2025 schedule, the first season under the leadership of head coach Becca Owens.
The 2025 Georgia State softball schedule highlights 27 home games at the Bob Heck Softball Complex, including matchups against Michigan, Kennesaw State, Western Carolina, Chattanooga, Rutgers and North Dakota.
The Panthers are also set to host conference matchups against South Alabama, James Madison, Appalachian State and Troy. Georgia State will travel for conference games against ULM, rivals Georgia Southern, Coastal Carolina and Marshall.
The Panthers are slated to compete in-state matchups, including three games against Kennesaw State, a home-and-home against Mercer and single games against West Georgia and at Georgia.
The Panthers return 16 student athletes from the 2024 roster, with eight newcomers joining the squad.
Among the 16 returners is
Chloe Middlebrooks, who started in all 53 games and led the team at bats (158), hits (45), runs scored (28), doubles (7) and stolen bases (17) during the 2024 season.
The Panthers also return the three top pitchers from last season, including
Sydney Boulware,
Makayla Stephens and
Kate Kastelic. Boulware led the team on the mound during the 2024 season with a 4.58 ERA and six wins.
Schedule Notes:
> The Panthers open the season at the Paradise Classic, hosted by Florida Atlantic.
> Georgia State will host the annual Bob Heck Memorial Tournament, with matchups including Clemson and Wisconsin.
> The Panthers will also host the I-75 challenge with matchups with Dayton and Memphis. GSU will travel for one game against Kennesaw State in the challenge.
> The 2025 Sun Belt Tournament is slated for May 7-10, hosted at Troy.
