ATLANTA – Georgia State Athletics was one of four SBC schools awarded the Student-Athlete Graduation Success Rate Award, presented at the Sun Belt Honors Banquet on Tuesday evening.
This esteemed recognition is given to member institutions achieving a single-year graduation success rate of 90 percent or higher for student-athletes, as outlined in the NCAA Division I Graduation Rate Award report.
In the 2024 academic year, GSU Athletics achieved a remarkable graduation rate of 90%, marking a significant milestone in the university's commitment to academic excellence.
In addition to this award, Georgia State's Athletics Department has maintained an impressive academic record, achieving a departmental GPA of 3.0 or higher for 26 consecutive academic terms.
The 2023-2024 academic year highlights include:
- Fall 2023:
- Male Team GPA Winner: MTE with a 3.79 GPA
- Female Team GPA Winner: WGO with a 3.92 GPA
- Spring 2024:
- Male Team GPA Winner: MTE with a 3.76 GPA
- Female Team GPA Winner: WTE with a 3.95 GPA
Georgia State student-athletes have also been recognized for their outstanding academic achievements, with 180 student-athletes earning a place on the AD Honor Roll (GPA of 3.0-3.49), 168 on the Dean's List (GPA of 3.50-3.99), and 93 on the President's List (GPA of 4.0 or higher) for the 2023-2024 academic year.
