ATLANTA — Georgia State women's soccer freshman Aaliyah Faddoul is the Center Parc Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Week after an explosive start to her college career.

The rookie from Ontario, Canada, scored five goals last week to lead the Panthers to a 2-0-0 start for the 2023 season.

In her collegiate debut, Faddoul tied the Georgia State program record with three goals, along with one assist, in the Panthers' 12-0 victory over South Carolina State in last Thursday's season opener. Faddoul's hat trick helped GSU tie the program records for goals in a game and margin of victory.

She followed with her fourth goal of the young season to help Georgia State to a 3-0 victory over Murray State Sunday.

Faddoul leads the Sun Belt and ranks No. 5 in the nation for goals (2.0 per game) and No. 6 in points (2.5 per game).

As a team, Georgia State is No. 3 in Division I in scoring after two games.

Faddoul and the Panthers continue their season-opening homestand with a pair of matches this weekend at the GSU Soccer Complex. GSU hosts Mercer on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET, followed by Presbyterian on Sunday at 6 p.m. ET.
