ATLANTA -- Spirit Head Coach Brittiney Wall announces tryout dates for the 2023-2024 Spirit Squad. Georgia State Spirit tryouts for the 2023-24 season will be held Saturday, April 29th. 

Tryouts are open to any incoming freshmen, college aged student or graduate student that has been admitted to GSU (Atlanta Campus) with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

If you were a previous spirit member you must complete and submit all preliminary forms and videos. 

You MUST complete and submit ALL spirit tryout forms to Brittiney Wall, no later than 5 p.m. Sunday, April 23rd. Athletes who send in their packets late will be subject to losing their ability to participate in tryouts. 

Tryouts will take place at the GSU Sports Arena on the campus of Georgia State University.  Check-in will be at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 29th. Tryouts will start promptly at 10 a.m. in the practice gym behind the GSU Sports Arena.

if you cannot attend in-person tryouts, you can submit a video. 

• Cheer video should include standing tumbling, running tumbling, fight song, and stunting video. Every video must be submitted via a YouTube Link
• Dance video should include fight song, routine listed above and a solo. 
• Those trying out in 4/29 do not need to submit video links, just application. 

All participants must bring the $20 tryout fee in cash form in order to participate. No other forms of payment will be accepted.

April 29^th In-Person Schedule and Requirements:

• Check-in starts at 9:00 a.m.
• 30 minute bootcamp for everyone at 10 a.m.
• Tryouts for Cheer and Pantherettes start at 10:30 a.m.
• Pounce Tryouts start at 11 a.m.

Cheer Attire: black shorts, GSU blue or white tank/fitted t-shirt. Hair for ladies: half up, half down with medium-large white bow. Game day makeup (including red lipstick). Appropriate shoes for tumbling and stunting. No jewelry allowed. Nails must be short with french manicure, skin neutral polish, or white.

Pantherettes Attire: black dance shorts or pants, white tank. Hair: side part, low ponytail. Game day makeup (including lashes and red lipstick). Jazz shoes and sneakers. Earrings are the only jewelry allowed. 

Team Pounce: Wear white, black or gray t-shirt and black athletic shorts. Please wear tennis shoes. Please bring necessary props for skit.

The G-deck entrance is located under Collins Street bridge at the end to your right, next to the GSU Sports Arena.

Headed Northwest on Decatur st.: Turn left under Collins Street bridge.
