ATLANTA—Georgia State (13-18, 2-4 Sun Belt) clinched the series against Coastal Carolina (25-9, 2-4 Sun Belt) with a 6-5 victory in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader

Emily Brown kept her hit streak alive going four for seven at the plate and scored two runs and batted in four. She is currently on an eight-game hit streak.
Game 1: GSU 6, CCU 5
Emily Brown tied the game with an RBI-single and then scored the go-ahead run as Georgia State rallied with two runs in the sixth inning to win 6-5 and clinch the series vs. Coastal Carolina.
After Coastal Carolina got on the board with a run in the first inning, the Panthers answered in the bottom half as
Ashton Schroyer scored from second base on a sac bunt by
Maia Mumpfield to tie it up.
The Chanticleers moved ahead 4-1 in the top of the third, but Georgia State got two back as
Bailee Richardson drove in one with a single and
Carolyn Deady brought the Panthers within 4-3 with an RBI on a fielder's choice.
Brown first RBI-single of the game came in the fourth inning to keep Georgia State within one run at 5-4.
That was the score with two outs in the sixth inning when
Chloe Middlebrooks singled and stole second. That brought Brown to the plate, and she delivered the game-tying hit with a single to left field to score Middlebrooks. On the play Brown advanced to second on the throw and moved to third on a throwing error. Then with
Jaycee Goodwin at the plate, Brown scored the go-ahead run on an error by the third baseman.
GSU preserved the lead in the top of the seventh as the Panthers turned a game-ending, 1-4-3 double play.
Hallie Adams (3-6) earned the win in the circle after relieving
Emily Hodnett in the fifth with the Panthers down 5-4.
Game 2: CCU 11, GSU 3
The last game of the series took a turn as the Chanticleers bats were on fire. The first run scored was a 2 rbi home run. They would continue to score every inning except in the fourth.
The Panthers scored three runs on two rbi singles and sac fly throughout the game.
The loss was given to
Hallie Adams(3-7) who gave up seven runs on six hits.
The Panthers will travel to Jacksonville State this Wednesday, March 29 for a single game. First pitch is set for 6:00pm
