MOBILE -- Georgia State (10-15, 0-2Â Sun Belt) dropped both games against South Alabama (18-9, 2-0 Sun Belt) on opening day of Sun Belt Conference play.

Maia Mumpfield and
Emily Brown both went 2 for 5 at the plate and both scored a run. Brown also added a stolen base, her 11
th of the season so far.

The Panthers fell to the Jaguars in six innings in game one of the doubleheader, 8-0.

The loss was given to
Elle Doolittle (5-2) who pitched four innings before being relieved by
Kate Kastelic.

In the second game, down 1-3 in the top of the sixth the Panthers made a comeback when Mumpfield hit a 2 rbi single to tie up the game.

With two outs and a runner on base the Jaguars scored on an error to win.

Hallie Adams pitched seven innings giving up five hits and four runs, striking out three.  She fell 2-5 on the season.

The Panthers will be back to face the Jaguars on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET in the final game of the series.
