FOLEY, AL -- Georgia State couldn't secure a victory, falling 1-0 against Old Dominion on Wednesday, November 1, at Foley Sports Tourism Complex. The Panthers were eliminated from the Sun Belt Tournament when Old Dominion scored in the 84th minute
The first shot of the game occurred in the 11th minute when Old Dominion tested Jaddah Foos with a strong shot on goal, which she brilliantly saved. Georgia State had their initial opportunity of the half with a corner kick in the 14th minute, but they couldn't capitalize as the Old Dominion defense effectively cleared the ball.
Georgia State had one final opportunity in the first half when Aaliyah Faddoul received a pass from Elena Diaz, made a dash forward past defenders, but unfortunately lost the ball just before she could take a shot. The Old Dominion goalie quickly reacted, racing to cover the ball, thus preserving the 0-0 tie as the teams headed into halftime.
At halftime, ODU led in shots with two, while Georgia State had yet to register a shot on target. However, Georgia State held the advantage in corner kicks with two compared to ODU's one.
The second half began with Georgia State registering their one and only shot of the game, as Elena Diaz unleashed a powerful strike from outside the box that narrowly missed the target. In the 49th minute, Jaddah Foos was called into action, making her second save of the game on a long-range shot.
Throughout much of the second half, both teams battled for possession. Georgia State's defensive line, consisting of Eva Diez Lois, Therese Guldager, and Kaitlyn Vance, effectively cleared the ball to prevent Old Dominion from getting shots on goal. In the 74th minute, the Panthers earned back-to-back corner kicks, but they were unable to convert these into shots as the Old Dominion defense cleared the danger on both occasions.
In the 84th minute, Old Dominion unleashed a powerful shot on goal, but Jaddah Foos pulled off her third and most outstanding save of the day by diving to her right and deflecting the ball out for a corner kick. Unfortunately, Old Dominion took advantage of the corner kick and scored a header, grabbing the 1-0 lead. The Panthers made valiant efforts to mount a comeback but were unable to find the equalizer.

Georgia St. dropped to 9-5-6 on the season after the loss.
