Panthers Fight Back from Two-Goal Deficit to Earn Draw

ATLANTA -- Georgia State rallied in the second half with a pair of goals in the final 15 minutes to earn a 3-3 draw against ULM Thursday night.

The Warhawks scored in the 11th minute on a long goal by Lena Goppel. The Panthers pulled even in the 24th when Gracen Crosby converted a penalty kick for her third goal of the season.

ULM took a 2-1 lead into halftime after scoring in the 44th and extended its lead to 3-1 in the 65th.

Georgia State stayed aggressive and cut into ULM's lead in the 76th when Brooklynn Fugel scored her team-leading fifth goal when a Callee Maughon shot was deflected off the ULM keeper.

The Panthers completed the comeback just moments later off a corner kick. Crosby delivered the corner into the box and Eva Diez Lois floated a header into the goal for the equalizer.

Both sides traded chances in overtime as Fugel hit a shot off the crossbar and Maddie Johnston narrowly missed the game-winner.

GSU moves to 6-3-2 (1-1-1 Sun Belt) with the draw. ULM moves to 6-0-2 (0-0-1 Sun Belt).

The Panthers return to action Sunday at Appalachian State. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
