Holloway Scores Two as Panthers Down Presbyterian College

ATLANTA -- Kelsee Holloway scored two goals in the first half Sunday evening to lead Georgia State past Presbyterian College 6-2.

Holloway scored each of her goals just 10 minutes apart, putting her first of the season away in the 33rd minute off an assist from Jimena Cabrero.

The pair teamed up again in the 43rd to make it 2-0 Panthers.

PC answered quickly to cut GSU's lead in half and send the game to halftime at 2-1.

The score remained 2-1 until Georgia State opened up the game in the 63rd with Maddie Johnston's second goal of the season. Johnston blocked a clearance from a PC defender and beat the keeper to the ball, dribbling around the keeper and scoring on the open net.

Off the ensuing kickoff, Cabrero won possession and chipped the keeper less than a minute after Johnston's goal to make it 4-1.

Meagan McInerney added on with her first career goal in the 82nd. After her first shot was blocked, McInerney settled and found the back of the net on her second attempt.

Freshman Alondra Nieves also scored her first career goal on Sunday, making it a 6-1 game in the 89th.

The Blue Hose scored in the 90th to make it a 6-2 final.

Georgia State hasn't been defeated in it's last five games, improving to 5-2-1 on the year. The Panthers now being Sun Belt play and will visit Louisiana on Thursday followed by a trip to Texas State on Sunday.
