ATLANTA - No. 19 Georgia State beach volleyball (19-12) will conclude the regular season with a pair of contests at North Florida. First, the Sandy Panthers will battle Florida Gulf Coast before facing the host UNF both on Saturday afternoon.
GSU is coming off of a 2-2 performance in four CCSA contests at the GSU Diggin Duals in downtown Atlanta. The Panthers collected two wins over Southern Miss and fell twice to rival No. 16 South Carolina. Two pairs, Kelly Dorn and Kate Novack and Olivia Stasevich and Mattie Johnson, went undefeated over the weekend.Georgia State honored the eight seniors and fifth-years in this year's squad: Olivia Stasevich, Kate Novack, Maddie Gordon, Mattie Johnson, Eden Hawes, Bekah Brodbeck, Kaylee McClure, and Meagan McCall before action began on the second day of the event.
GSU will face both Florida Gulf Coast and UNF for the first time this season. The Eagles have registered a 13-11 record over the 2021 campaign. They are entering the weekend after collecting two mid-week victories over Eckerd. First serve against FGCU is slated for 1:00 p.m. GSU will return to the sand immediately for the final contest of the regular season against UNF. The Ospreys have tabbed a 17-7 record during this season. In their latest outing the Ospreys fell to No. 4 Florida State. Georgia State squared-off against UNF in downtown Atlanta last season, where the Sandy Panthers emerged victorious with a narrow 3-2 result.
GSU has accumulated a 19-12 record this year. Stasevich and Johnson lead the team with 16 victories while the Ferary sisters have registered 15 wins as a pair in their rookie campaign.
