Ferary Sisters are Georgia State Student-Athletes of the Week

ATLANTA - After leading the beach volleyball team to a perfect weekend and celebrating their birthdays, Angel and Bella Ferary have been named the Georgia State Student-Athletes of the Week on Monday.

The Ferary twins continued their impressive rookie campaign, collecting five wins at the NOLA Classic. The AVCA Beach Volleyball First Team High School All-Americans started the weekend with a pair of wins in the fifth position, as the Panthers defeated both Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Central Arkansas 4-1. The twins finished the first day of competition moving into the fourth flight, where they earned an additional victory as GSU swept Spring Hill.

On Saturday, the twins celebrated their birthday by tacking on two additional wins over Houston Baptist and No. 20 Tulane both in the No. 4 position. The sister duo was the only GSU pair to win in each dual over the weekend. Overall, the Georgia natives have accumulated a 9-0 record this season.

The Ferary sisters and their Panther teammates will return to action for the Gamecock Grand Slam in Columbia, S.C., beginning this Saturday facing Florida State.
