#3 Panthers to face #11 App State in Quarterfinals Wednesday

 FOLEY, Ala. -- Georgia State will take on Appalachian State at noon ET on ESPN+ Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the 2021 Sun Belt Championship. 

The 3-seeded Panthers and 11-seeded Mountaineers met on Sept. 26 in a regular-season contest in Boone, N.C., with Georgia State winning 1-0 off an own goal. App State defeated Texas State 2-1 on Monday to advance to the quarterfinals.

  • Georgia State carries the longest unbeaten streak in the conference at eight matches and recorded the least amount of losses in the league. 
  • Three Panthers were named First Team All-Sun Belt in Bree Barley, Brooklynn Fugel and Lexie Knox. This was the most first team selections for GSU since 1999.
