Panthers Host First-Place Jaguars Friday in Atlanta

ATLANTA -- Georgia State welcomes South Alabama to town for a conference battle Friday at 7 p.m. at the new GSU Soccer Facility.

The Panthers currently sit in third place with 11 points in the Sun Belt Conference standings while South Alabama is first with 13 points. Georgia State is coming off a 2-0 win over Troy last Sunday while the Jaguars bring a four-match win streak to Atlanta.

Brooklynn Fugel continues to lead Georgia State's offense with five goals on the season. Sophomore Maddie Johnston is right behind her with four. Three of Johnston's goals were game-winners. Gracen Crosby is GSU's assist leader with four.

GSU and USA split last season's games with each team winning on the road. Jimena Cabrero scored the game-winner in Mobile to break a 0-0 tie in overtime on Oct. 4 and South Alabama claimed a 3-0 win at Center Parc Stadium on Oct. 25.
