ATLANTA -- Sophomore Maddie Johnston is this week's GSU Student-Athlete of the Week after leading women's soccer to a win and a tie last week.
 
Johnston scored a pair of goals for GSU this week as the Panthers drew with Coastal Carolina and defeated Troy 2-0.

Down 1-0 Friday against Coastal, Johnston scored the equalizing goal in the final minutes of regulation leading to a key tie.

Sunday, she provided the game-winner in the 50th minute against the Trojans. The reigning Sun Belt Freshman of the Year now ranks second on the team with four goals.

The Panthers improved to 8-3-3 and 3-1-2 in Sun Belt Conference play. GSU is currently in second place in the league standings with less than three weeks to play in the regular season.

Next up for Johnston and the Panthers is a showdown with South Alabama at home on Friday night at 7 p.m. The Panthers and Jaguars are currently the top two teams in the Sun Belt.
