ATLANTA -- Women's soccer standout freshman Brooke Hart has been named the Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the Panthers to a 2-1 overtime victory over Mercer on Friday night.

The Marietta, Ga., native shined in her collegiate debut, scoring the game-winning goal against the Bears as the Panthers opened the season 1-0.

Hart came on as a sub and played 42 minutes, recording four shots on goal out of five total. Her final shot, in the 93rd minute, found the back of the net and sent the Panthers back home with a win.

Georgia State will return to the pitch on Thursday night traveling to Boone, N.C., to open Sun Belt Conference play at Appalachian State.
