Joyce Welcomes Eight New Panthers

Women's soccer signed eight on Signing Day.

ATLANTA -- Head women's soccer coach Ed Joyce announced the addition of eight new Panthers on Signing Day.

Bree Barley | Suwanee, Ga. | North Gwinnett H.S.
Two-sport athlete at North Gwinnett, playing soccer and basketball… Named United Soccer Coaches All-State and All-Region in 2020… Nominated for USC All-America… Also earned a Gwinnett Tipoff Club Player of the Month award in 2020… Averaged two goals per game and led team to an undefeated season… Averaged a goal per game in 2019… Assisted on the game-tying goal with two minutes left in the 2018-19 state championship game and scored one of the penalty kicks en route to the title… Played club for Concorde Fire, making the national playoffs in 2017… Made it to ECNL Nationals in 2018 and 2019.

Natalie Gonzalez | Marietta, Ga. | Walton H.S.
Goalkeeper at Walton… As a freshman she came on as the backup keeper and made a save in penalty kicks for the win… Was the varsity starter beginning her sophomore year… Make it to State Semifinals as a freshman… Received the Walton Raider Pride Award as a freshman which recognizes students who consistently demonstrate exceptional character traits… Played club for UFA… Intends to major in marketing… Plays guitar and cello and can juggle.

Played club for United Futbol Academy and at Johns Creek H.S…. Won a region championship with UFA… Helped lead Johns Creek to the Final 4… Made Honor Roll in 10th, 11th and 12th grade… Intends to major in nursing and wants to be a pediatric oncology nurse.

Scored 74 career goals in high school with 52 assists including 33 goals her sophomore year… Scored five goals in a game vs. Gallatin in 2018… Two-time Undefeated Section Champions with a 54-17-1 high school record… Played club for Pittsburgh Riverhounds… 2019 National ECNL Showcase Champions… Bethesda Premier Cup Champions twice… Jefferson Cup Champions… Pennsylvania State Futsal Champions twice.

All-Region in 2019… Scored 31 goals with 10 assists as a junior… Totaled 16 goals and six assists as a sophomore… Clover Rookie of the Year 2017-18… Clover Golden Boot Award 2018-19… Viking Cup All-Tournament Team in 2018… Helped lead Clover to state semifinals as a sophomore and junior… Played for Charlotte Soccer Academy… Intends to major  in biology/pre-med.

Kelsey Sauer | Winter Springs, Fla. | Oviedo H.S.
Played for Oviedo H.S. and won both the region and district championships… Played club for Florida Kraze Krush… Intends to major in physics… Parents both played college soccer and sister currently plays at Kennesaw State… Brother played college soccer at West Florida.

Chloe Thompson | Stockbridge, Ga. | Starrs Mill H.S.
Played forward, midfield, and wing positions… Named the 2018 5A Region 2 Freshman of the Year after scoring 15 goals with 12 assists… Scored on a penalty kick against Chamblee to advance to the Final Four in 2018… Won the State Cup with AFC Lightning… Intends to major in business.

Gabby West | Marietta Ga. | Campbell H.S.
Played forward and midfield… First Team All-Region as a junior and sophomore… Second Team All-Region as a Freshman… Led Campbell in scoring her junior year… Campbell Offensive Player of the Year as a sophomore… Scored a hat trick in the Houston Showcase in 2020… Played club and was team Captain at Concorde… Won the ECNL Champions League in 2018, ECNL North American Cup in 2019, and the ECNL Showcase Cup in 2020… Can also play piano and intends to major in nursing.
