Senior Spotlight: Reiley Mullen

Reiley Mullen is a senior from Woodstock, Ga.

While some struggled to stay busy during quarantine, senior Reiley Mullen used the time for something she loves; reading.

Reiley's interest in books started at a young age. She credits her mother for the hobby.

"We had a lot of books in the house growing up," Reiley recalls. "My mom always had us reading. The first book I remember her reading to me before bed was Franklin the Turtle."

The Woodstock, Ga., native does not have a particular genre that she favorites. For Reiley, the joy in reading comes from a book's ability to take us to a new place and provide a peaceful moment away from everything.

"I just love to read. Genre doesn't matter," Reiley said. "Anything that's a good read."

Reiley has done a lot of reading during quarantine but enjoyed American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins and Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult.

Other than reading, Reiley tried to make the best of quarantine, going on new adventures with her roommates and friends.

"We went on walks, made art, went running, explored new places, found new things to eat," Reiley said.

Reiley is a psychology major set to graduate in the spring. She hopes to attend nursing school after college.

"Whatever I do, I want to be someone that has a good, positive impact on someone's life."
