ATLANTA – The Georgia State women's soccer team announced its 2020 spring exhibition schedule Tuesday afternoon, a six-match slate with all contests set to be played within the Peach State.
GSU opens the spring season on Feb. 29 against Truett McConnell at the GSU Soccer Complex. The Panthers then return to action on March 7 for a double-header against West Georgia and Jacksonville State in Carrollton, Ga.
Ed Joyce's squad will return home to face Middle Georgia State at the GSU Soccer Complex on March 28, then travel to Milledgeville, Ga., on April 11 to take on Georgia College and to Fayetteville, Ga., on April 18 to face Mercer in the final exhibition of the spring.
Georgia State will look to carry momentum from a strong finish to the 2019 season, where the Panthers went 5-1 in their final six matches and made a second consecutive appearance in the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. The team finished 9-9-2 overall and 5-4-1 in conference play for a share of fourth place in the league standings, with Joyce becoming the first head coach to lead GSU to eight or more wins in back-to-back seasons since 2007-08.
All Georgia State women's soccer spring home matches will be held at the GSU Soccer Complex, located at 2401 Wildcat Rd., Decatur, GA 30034. Admittance and parking will be free of charge.
