Georgia State Set for First-Round Matchup with Coastal Carolina in SBC Tournament

ATLANTA – Georgia State women's soccer enters the opening round of the 2019 Sun Belt Conference Tournament riding a four-match win streak and will take on No. 4 Coastal Carolina 8 p.m. ET Wednesday at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex.

Wednesday's matchup will be the second consecutive year GSU and Coastal Carolina have met in the opening round of the conference tournament, as the Panthers used a goal from Brooke Shank in the in the 94th minute to secure a 3-2 overtime victory over the Chanticleers and punch their ticket to the semifinals in 2018.

SCOUTING COASTAL CAROLINA
- Coastal Carolina wrapped up the regular season on a two-match win streak, knocking off Arkansas State 2-1 before shutting out ULM 1-0 in its regular season finale.
- CCU is led by Sunny Sigurvinsdottir and Hannah Miller, who have each tallied six goals on the year. Miller is tied for third in the Sun Belt with four goals against conference opponents.
- The Chanticleers enter the tournament averaging 15.1 shots per game against conference opponents, the second-highest mark in the league.
- Wednesday will be the sixth all-time meeting between GSU and Coastal Carolina. The Panthers own a 3-2 record in the series but lost the most recent outing against the Chanticleers 2-0 in Conway, S.C., on Oct. 11.

LAST TIME OUT
- Georgia State earned a 2-1 Senior Day victory over Appalachian State in its final match of the regular season, giving the Panthers their fourth straight win.
- Jimena Cabrero and Brooke Shank each netted a goal for GSU in the win.
- Shank's goal was her third in the team's last four contests.
- Kendra Clarke collected two saves and improved to 8-4-1 between the posts this season.

- Jimena Cabrero leads GSU with five goals and two assists for 12 total points. Four of her goals are game-winners, tied for the second-most among all players in the Sun Belt.
