ATLANTA – Three talented high school seniors signed national letters of intent to play beach volleyball at Georgia State, head coach Beth Van Fleet announced this week. The class includes Angel Ferary, Bella Ferary, and Peyton Crenwelge.
Born and raised in Georgia, the Ferary sisters are both three-year letterwinners at Mount Paran Christian School under head coach Selina Chancy. Both helped lead their indoor volleyball team to a state championship appearance in 2017 and the state title in 2018. The sisters played multiple sports in high school and the duo earned the 2019 state title in the 4 x 100 m relay en route to helping their team take home the overall track and field title. The Ferary sisters played beach volleyball at S3 under head coach Bryan Jones.
"Angel is a gritty athlete with fantastic ball control and a high beach IQ. Her strong work ethic will be a great fit for our program. Bella is a scrappy defender and an offensive threat. Her vision, versatility and courage allow her to improve each time she competes," said Van Fleet.
A native of Comfort, Texas, Peyton Crenwelge is a two-year letterwinner at TMI Episcopal. Her freshman year she earned all-district honorable mention accolades and her sophomore year she earned second team all-district honors. She placed third at the p1440 National Beach Volleyball Championships. Crenwelge played for 210 Beach Volleyball and Optimum Beach Volleyball under head coaches Jason Kaiser and Pri Lima. Her team placed fifth in the nation in open division at the Junior Olympics playing indoor volleyball.
"We are excited that Peyton will be joining us next fall. She is a focused and patient competitor who has a strong net presence. Peyton's ability to learn and identify solutions will serve her well at this level," said Van Fleet.
