Cross Country Announces 2016 Schedule

ATLANTA – Georgia State's cross country team announced its 2016 competition schedule Thursday. The Panthers will compete in seven events crossing five states including the Sun Belt Championships in Troy, Ala. on Oct. 29.

Head coach Chris England will begin his seventh season at the helm of the program on Sept. 2 when GSU takes part in the JSU Struts Invitational in Oxford, Ala. Georgia State finished fourth last season in Oxford.

The Panthers will then head to the Lone Star State to run in the Gerald Richey Invitational in Grand Prairie, Texas on Sept. 10. Sun Belt-foe UT Arlington is the host school.

On Sept. 24, GSU will visit another Sun Belt opponent as the squad heads to Troy's Trojan Invitational in Dothan, Ala.

Next the Panthers go to Spartanburg, S.C. on Oct. 1 for the Upstate Invitational hosted by USC Upstate before wrapping up the regular season on Oct. 15 in Chattanooga, Tenn. at the Front Runner Invitational hosted by UT Chattanooga.

Georgia State will return to Troy, Ala. for the Sun Belt Championships on Oct. 29 and will close out the season at the NCAA South Regional in Tallahassee, Fla. on Nov. 11.
