Panthers Lose 3-2, Win 4-1 on Final Day in New Orleans

What you need to know:

* No. 8 Georgia State (19-6, 5-3 CCSA) was defeated 3-2 by Tulane, but beat LSU 4-1 to finish the Green Wave Invitational with a 2-2 record.

* The Panthers have four regular season games remaining, all at the Florida State Tournament next weekend in Tallahassee.

* GSU competes in the conference tournament April 22-24 in Emerson, Ga.


NEW ORLEANS – Georgia State's eighth-ranked beach volleyball team moved to 19-6 with a loss to Tulane and a win over LSU Saturday at the Green Wave Invitational. GSU sits at 5-3 in CCSA matches with one weekend to go in the regular season.

Georgia State faced the host Green Wave in their third contest of the weekend. Tulane won in Flights 1, 3 and 4 with the Panthers taking Nos. 2 and 5. Flight 3 went to three sets with the Green Wave coming out on top.

In the second match of the day, Georgia State took on LSU for the second time this season. The Panthers won Flights 1, 3, 4 and 5. Sara Olivova and Jansen Button went to three sets in the first spot, but won handily in the third frame, 15-5. Flight 4 also went to three sets, with Natalie Wilson and Brooke Weiner battling out a marathon 21-19 Set 3.
