* No. 9 Georgia State (25-7, 6-4 CCSA) won Group 2 and earned a bye with a 5-0 win over Tulane Saturday.
* The Panthers will take on LSU in the semifinals Sunday at 9:30 a.m.

EMERSON, Ga. (CCSA) – The second day of the 2016 Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Beach Volleyball Championship saw Florida State and Georgia State win group play, while LSU and South Carolina advanced to the semifinals with victories in the afternoon.
Group Play Recap
In the early morning session, Georgia State secured a bye into the semifinals with a 5-0 win over Tulane to go undefeated in group play. Four of the five matches were straight-set victories, while at the No. 1 position Jansen Button and Sara Olivova won in three sets. In the other match, FIU defeated FAU 3-2 to clinch the second spot in Group 2 and move into the quarterfinals. The Panthers got wins at the No. 2, 3 and 4 positions to clinch the match.
In Group 1 action, Florida State left no doubt as they defeated UAB 5-0 to secure the top spot and a bye into the semifinals. Again four of the five matches were won in straight-sets, while the top pair of Julie Brown and Jace Pardon won 15-5 in the third. LSU picked up a 5-0 win in the other matchup against South Carolina to finish group play in second, with the Gamecocks in third place. Both advanced to play in the afternoon quarterfinals.
The Championship Match will begin at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday and will be broadcast live on ESPN3 and on the WatchESPN app.
