* No. 9 Georgia State (22-7, 6-4 CCSA) won the final two matches of the regular season Friday.
* The Panthers beat No. 17 North Florida 3-2 and UAB 4-1.
* GSU will compete at the CCSA Tournament this weekend April 22-24 in Emerson, Ga. off I-75.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Georgia State played its final two regular-season matches Saturday at the Florida State Beach Tournament, defeating No. 17 North Florida 3-2 and UAB 4-1 to finish with a 22-7 (6-4 CCSA) record.
“Wrapping up our regular season with two wins today is a strong lead-in to the CCSA Championships next weekend,” head coach Beth Van Fleet said. “Playing these teams this weekend allowed us to compete against different offensive and defensive systems and that will help better prepare for the conference tournament.”
Milani Pickering and Delaney Rohan polished off a perfect 4-0 weekend, improving to 25-3 and tallying the second-most wins in a single season in GSU's four-year history. The pair won both contest Saturday in straight sets.
Next up for Georgia State is the inaugural CCSA Tournament at Lake Point Sports Complex in Emerson, Ga. Seeding and match times for the tournament will be announced by the conference on Sunday at around 1 p.m. ET. The new 8-team Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) beach volleyball conference has three Florida schools (No. 3 Florida State, Florida Atlantic and No. 9 FIU), LSU, South Carolina, Tulane and UAB.
