CHARLESTON, S.C. – Competing at the College of Charleston Beach Tournament, No. 8 Georgia State took on No. 1 Pepperdine Friday morning, falling 4-1 to the Waves in the fourth meeting between the two schools all-time.
Georgia State got a win in the second flight from Jansen Button and Sara Olivova, but came up short in a three-setter in the fifth flight that would've secured a second point. GSU's No. 1, 3 and 4 pairs all were defeated in two sets.

Georgia State has two more matches at the CofC Beach Tournament. The Panthers will play Lincoln Memorial at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday followed by UNC Wilmington at 3 p.m.
