Cross Country Heads to Final Race Before Sun Belt Championships

ATLANTA - Georgia State's cross country team prepares for its final tune-up before the Sun Belt Championships as the Panthers travel north to Chattanooga, Tenn. for Saturday's Front Runner Invitational 5k hosted by UT Chattanooga.

The Panthers have competed well in each race so far this season, tallying two second place finishes, a fourth place finish and a head-to-head team victory over Sun Belt-member Troy. Freshman Angela Alonso has been the team's top performer in each event and looks to continue her first-year success this weekend.

GSU ran in an event hosted by UT Chattanooga last season, but the runners will be seeing a new course this time around. The race, slated to start at 3 p.m., will be held at Camp Jordan Park.

Live stats for the event are unavaliable, but results will be posted on GeorgiaStateSports.com following the conclusion of the 5k.
