Biography

Rob Clark is entering his third year serving as Georgia State’s Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development.

In this position, he is responsible for the overall administration, management and supervision of athletic development and fundraising efforts, and associated personnel for the athletics department. He also focuses on planning and executing capital and annual fund initiatives for athletics in conjunction with the Georgia State University Foundation.

Since 2013, Panther Athletic Club membership has increased over 60 percent during the #PAC2k Initiative to grow to 2,000 members. Also, several capital projects have been funded through generous donor support including: the Football Strength & Conditioning Center, Men’s and Women’s Basketball Locker Rooms, and Basketball & Volleyball Practice Facility. He also served in an interim role leading the External Operations efforts in 2014.

Clark came to Georgia State from New Mexico, where he led the major gifts and annual giving efforts at UNM, including $10 million in annual giving, $13 million in planned giving, and capital projects that totaled more than $70 million.

Prior to UNM, Clark was Associate A.D. for Development at Angelo State, leading the school’s athletic component of the Texas Tech System’s $1 billion capital campaign. He helped increase annual giving membership by 300 percent and securing gifts for the building of a new baseball facility.

Clark served as the special assistant to the Senior Associate Athletics Director and Compliance Coordinator at Texas A&M. He was involved with securing multiple $1 million gifts in addition to negotiating non-conference football games and handling the analysis and design of the outbound ticket sales call center.

A 2005 graduate of Occidental College with a bachelor’s degree in diplomacy and world affairs, Clark went on to earn his master’s degree (2006) and completed his Ph.D. in Kinesiology at Texas A&M (2010). Clark was a football student-athlete at Utah State and finished as team captain at Occidental.

Clark and his wife, Emily, have two daughters: Annie and Kate.
