STARKVILLE, Miss. - Georgia State's softball team gave up just two runs in two games Saturday at the Bulldog Kickoff Classic, beating Stephen F. Austin 3-1 and WKU 2-1 (8) to move on to the championship game Sunday against Mississippi State.

Game 1: GSU 3, SFA 1

The Panthers got a great outing from sophomore Mandy Chance in the circle. Chance went the distance and gave up just one run. At the plate, Morgan Brown continued her hot start to the season with a 2-for-3 game. Ivie Drake was walked twice and scored two of GSU's three runs. Reagan Morgan, Remington Hasty and Kensey Caldwell each picked up an RBI for the Panthers.

Game 2: GSU 2, WKU 1 (8 innings)

In the first game between these two teams on Friday, the Panthers routed the Hilltoppers 13-1. WKU was able to slow down the Panther offense in the rematch, and the two teams went to extras after Georgia State tied up the game in the fifth inning with an RBI single from Morgan Brown.

Reagan Morgan laid down a perfect bunt in to leadoff the bottom of the eight and reached base after the catcher and third baseman has some miscommunication. Ivie Drake then hit a ground ball and as the infielder thought about throwing to second to get Morgan, Drake was able to beat out a throw to first to reach on the fielder's choice. The runners advanced on a groundout and then Kensey Caldwell lifted a fly ball to the outfield, allowing Morgan to tag from third and score the winning run.

Kinsley Jennings went 4.1 innings in the circle and allowed no runs on just three hits. Emily Soles pitched the final two frames and held WKU scoreless to pick up her second win of the season.

With the two wins, the Panthers advance to the Bulldog Kickoff Classic championship game Sunday at 1:30 p.m. ET. Georgia State will face the host Mississippi State Bulldogs for the second time this weekend. GSU fell to MSU 4-0 on Friday.
