Sand Volleyball Semi-Final Match To Be Shown on TV

In its first year as a program, Lane Carico and Katie Madewell represented the Georgia State sand volleyball team at the AVCA National Championships in Gulf Shores, Ala., May 3-5. The pair made it all the way to the semi-finals, and now fans will be able to watch their match against USC.

CBS Sports Network will air the Panther pair's match at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday, May 28. Atlanta-based viewers can catch the action on channels 643 and 1643 (HD) for AT&T U-verse subscribers, 109 and 822 (HD) for Comcast subscribers, 613 for DIRECTV subscribers, and 158 for DISH Network subscribers.

On the third day of action, and just two wins away from being named a national champion, Carico and Madewell met the No. 1 seed, USC's Burnham and Robinson, in the semi-finals. Both of USC's players were named All-Americans and had a 21-4 season mark. The Panther duo gave it all their all, but lost 21-17, 21-16 one match away from the championship game.

Carico and Madewell's trip to the semi-finals is the highest national finish of any athletes in GSU sports history. The Panther duo finished the season with a 33-8 record and Carico was named an AVCA All-American.
